STEP ONE: The first and most important step is education and fact finding. This is such an important step as this will overcome the many misconceptions you, your family, and your trusted financial advisors may have had about the program. This will also assist you in understanding your options and give you the peace of mind of knowing you can proceed with confidence. If at all possible we recommend that you meet with one of our advisors. Our Reverse Mortgage Specialists will be happy to answer all your questions, and provide additional information resources.
STEP TWO: Once you are satisfied that a reverse mortgage is right for you, your representative from the Cherry Creek Mortgage Company will provide you with a list of the HUD authorized reverse mortgage counselors in your area. This will also include information on how to obtain phone counseling if that is a better option for you.
STEP THREE: Upon the completion of your counseling, your Reverse Mortgage Specialist representative will prepare a simple loan application package, and arrange to get your signature and a very small list of support documents.
STEP FOUR: Our reverse mortgage processing center will order your appraisal, and title and arrange for whatever other services are needed to submit your loan file to underwriting.
STEP FIVE: Once the underwriter has cleared all the conditions of your loan, we will contact you to arrange a closing at a convenient time and location. When we call you to make these arrangements that is when you will tell us which of the four options you have selected for the disbursement of your proceeds.
